… to the Institute for Development Strategy (IfDS)!

We are an independent research institute based in Munich, Germany. Our goal is to help making international development cooperation more effective and efficient. We do this in three mutually reinforcing ways:

We evaluate institutions and programs to obtain evidence on root causes for high or low performance. We help improving  performance through constructive recommendations and dissemination of lessons learnt.

We research and develop evaluation methodology to improve the analytic power of tools for evaluation and strategic planning.

We advise those who design, manage and implement programs, drawing on careful analysis of evaluation and research findings.
